There is so much done to the innocent in this world it is a wonder how many survive. we were reading about adoption in Ghana and learned about Trokosi slaves,
" Among the Ewe and Dangme people of Ghana (and to a lesser extent, in Benin, Nigeria and Togo), traditional religious beliefs have given rise to the practice of trokosi, literally "slave of the gods," a type of oblate. It is believed that if a man commits a grave sin that the gods will take revenge by killing members of his family. To avoid this, the ritual shrine priest may prescribe that the family give a young virgin girl (rarely, a boy) to the shrine as the god's slave. This may be for a few years or permanent, although the is possible for the family to ransom the girl at the end of a stated term."
so much done to so many for men's need to dominate, the church stays quiet on too much of this.

so after this long and sometimes angry comment discussion i have been thinking about how do you create a forum where issues like racism, white privledge, hate, thelogocial diversity can be discussed openly and honestly. the limits of this technology are apparent from assumption we make when we read something and post a comment. do you create a place where people tell a little about themselves, show a pic give a little background. it also comes down to attitude also, if your attitude is to judge/condemn/hate then what is the point of being part of the discussion. i would truly enjoy a dialogue with people like martin about white privledge and how we can subvert it, about racism and how we can subvert that, about hate and how we subvert that. is that kind of dialogue even possible on the internet. does that mean we dont try? does that mean it is hopeless, i hope not because i have seen that i grew up in privledge, swam in it and didnt know it but slowly and at time painfully i grew out of that attitude and feel i need to subvert the idea and the reality of privledge/racism/hate whenever and however i can. so if you have any ideas lets talk about them and try to bring about God's kingdom here on earth. i pray that peace and grace will prevail as we try to navigate these stormy waters.
