sitting last night having a beer and a really good sandwich my friend pondered what women talk about when with only other women and what men talk about. he speculated that women would talk about relationships emotions etc and men sports work etc. as i listened i realized that i really dont like to talk about sports or work or other man things. i remember sitting with other friends talking about giving up our lives to help others trying to help other connect to our triune LORD not sports or things of that nature. then i realized how long it has been since i have had a conversation of weight with a friend who wants to listen and explore ideas that make one uncomfortable those are the conversations where i feel closest to my GOD and my friends. why do we fill our lives with so much noise and it seems to be getting louder everyday. i remember a quote i heard on a radio talk show once years ago on npr the commentator stated that in the 80s noise was mistaken for intelligence, maybe that is even more true today maybe not, but my life has too much noise right now and i need to quiet it down a little.
